Embrace your specialness and learn how to worship through your being.

Every individual is designed for a higher purpose, and that purpose is to worship God. As Richard Buxton shares in this enlightening talk, we often overlook our intrinsic value and the divine design that guides our existence.

You Are Special

Richard begins by inviting us to recognise our uniqueness. "Every individual is created and designed by God," he says, emphasising that many people fail to appreciate their worth and purpose. He likens this to the story of a priceless Egyptian artifact mistaken for a mere doorstop. Just as these objects were undervalued, so too are many individuals unaware of their God-given purpose.

The Anatomy of Worship

Richard elaborates on how each part of our being—body, soul, and spirit—is intricately designed for worship.

Our Physical Body

Our physical body is not merely a vessel; it is designed to engage with the world and express worship.

- Feet: "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news," says Richard, highlighting that our feet carry us to share the gospel.

- Knees: Kneeling represents reverence and acknowledgment of God's greatness. As stated in Psalm 95:6, "Come, let us bow down in worship."

- Hands: Our hands are meant to serve and surrender, lifting them in prayer signifies total openness to God.

- Mouth: Finally, our mouths are intended to proclaim praises. "May the words of my mouth... be pleasing in your sight, O God," encourages Richard, reminding us that our speech should reflect our worship.

Our Soul

Richard defines the soul as the real essence of who we are—indestructible and eternal. It encompasses our mind, emotions, and will, all of which are integral to our worship. As we grow and learn, our soul deepens in knowledge, allowing us to worship God more profoundly.

A Call to Action

In Romans 12:1, Paul urges us to "offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God." This is not just a spiritual activity; it is a holistic approach to living, where every aspect of our being is engaged in worship.

Richard’s insights encourage us to embrace our specialness and recognise the divine purpose designed within us. As we navigate our lives, let us remember that we are crafted for worship, and every action, thought, and word can reflect that purpose.

Reflect on how you can honour God with your body, soul, and spirit today.
